Miscommunication

Today we we talking about what we were going to do this weekend. George stated that he might like to play a round of golf. Susan jokingly said that they should call Silver Tip in Canmore to see if they had any tee times. George says that the Highland (in Calgary) would be okay too. Susan picks up the phone and calls the Highland, get a tee time for about 1:30. She says to George " we have a 1:30 tee time". This is at about 10 in the morning. Susan says that she want to go do her body vibration and then when she gets back we can get ready to go. While Susan is away, George adds some extra golf balls to the golf bags, sometimes you can lose a bunch in a round. He puts on his Silver Tip golf shirt that he got last week in Canmore. Susan comes home around 10:45 and George firgues that they should get going shortly, as they don't want to be late. Water bottles are filled and off they go in the car. As they are heading out of Cranston, George wonders if they should stop to get gas before they go. Susan looks at the gas guage and the tank is half full, she wonders why he feels that they need to get gas. Susan says that she thinks they'll be okay, as it's not really that far to the golf course. George agrees, although he really hates the thought of running out of gas. George starts to get into the left lane and Susan wonders aloud why he isn't taking the Deerfoot. George reports that it better to take 22X to Canmore. Then Susan burst out laughing stating that they are going golfing at the Highland. So now we have all this extra time before we start golfing. So we figure that we should go to Nevada Bobs and look around. George's shoes have been bother him so he looks at the shoes and finds a really nice pair, that fit him well. They get to the Highland about an hour before their tee time, but because it's a long weekend it's not to busy and they get to go out right away. It was a gret time as there was nobody coming up behind them and they could each play two balls. Lunch was then eaten upstairs in the club house.
On the way home George mentions that the flowers in the hanging baskets in the backyard are in pretty bad shape and he wonders if there is any place that would still have annuals. Susan had seen a sign yesterday for the garden centre just outside of Calgay, that was having a 50% off sale. So they decide to go there and check it out. Yeah they still have annuals, even better they are 75% off (everyone knows how much they like a bargin). As they are walking around they both smell a wonderful scent and wonder what it could possilbly be, because that's something that they would like to have in their yard. Susan approaches a sales person and asks her what the smell is. She takes them and shows them the Oriental Lily, which was just beautiful and smelled wonderful. So they bring home two and plant them in the backyard. Is that not just one on the most beautiful flowers you have ever seen?

A Drive Back from Canmore

Today we were driving back from Canmore after having a great weekend. We got to talking and thought that it might be a go idea to have a blog to talk about all the great things that we have experienced since moving to Alberta six years ago. We talked about what we would call the blog and we were reminded of what our friend Sharon, who lives in Petrolia, ON. She always says that "We have An Amazing Life". So as we go along we will talk about some of the amazing things that we have done. We'll start with this past weekend.

Canmore is easily a day trip from Calgary but we were invited for the weekend to investigate income potential property. For anyone not familiar with Canmore it is located just east of the Banff National Park. It is known as the town where you can see the three sisters. I don't want to steel the thunder of the rest of our trip but here is a view of the sisters.

For any Canadians out there looking for an investment opportunity in their RRSP this property provides this. If you would like to know more check out their website www.canmoreownership.com

We did attend the orientation for the resort where they give first time visitors information on day trips from Canmore into Banff National Park, Yoho National Park, trips up to Jasper and the Columbia Ice fields. All of this discussion reminded us of these places that we have visited and we intend to post comments, movies and pictures of these trips to help others plan their vacations in the future. Keep tuning in as the weeks go buy.

On this trip we decided to fulfill a dream that we have had for awhile - to play golf in the mountains. WIthin the canmore area there has been built a world class golf course called Silvertip. You should check out the website www.silvertipresort.com.

We have included a few pictures from the round to give you an idea of the beauty of the course. The picture above was also taken from a hole on the back nine. Should you go consider golfing select a later afternoon tee time to get the twilight discount. It is well worth the money saved.

Carts are equipped with GPS distancing and you keep your score on the same screen. The course has 12 KM of cart paths that will thrill any frustrated formula 1 driver. Hairpin turns and stopping will cause the tires to complain on occasion. You will be well challenged by the course and the experience is worth it.

You have a picture of the clubhouse and the 18th green.

A few of the many holes that front the 3 sisters or other mountains in the area.

A nice par 3 with a little water in front to get your excitement level up.

GPS screen is last picture.
